Day 14, Match 18, PBKS vs GT, IPL 2023 HIGHLIGHTS
Gujarat won By 6 wickets from Kings XI Punjab
BADSHAHBOOK: In the latest match of the Indian Premier League, defending champions Gujarat Titans bounced back to their winning ways by defeating Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings in a thrilling encounter held in Mohali on Thursday.
After winning the toss, Titans captain Hardik Pandya chose to bowl first and his bowlers responded well by restricting Punjab Kings to a moderate 153 for 8 in 20 overs, despite it being a good batting surface.
The debutant Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of 2 for 18, while Md Shami, Joshua Little, Rashid, and Alzarri Joseph claimed a wicket each.
In reply, the Titans got off to a great start in their chase of 154 runs. Shubhman Gill scored his second half-century of this season of IPL, smashing 67 off 49 deliveries.
Although Wriddhiman Saha took his wicket, it seemed that Gill and David Miller would quickly end the match.

However, the game turned into a last-over thriller with the Titans needing 4 runs from two balls. Sam Curran was given the task of bowling the final over and he got the crucial wicket of Gill, bringing the Kings back into the game. But with a calm head, Rahul Tewatia finished the match with a boundary, helping Titans secure a six-wicket win.
Apart from Matthew Short and a cameo by Shahrukh Khan, Punjab Kings' batters failed to perform well. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who scored an unbeaten 99 in the last match, could only contribute 8 runs.
Although some good shots in the death overs helped PBKS to put a decent score on the board, it was not enough to stop Titans from securing their third win in four matches.
Overall, the Gujarat Titans have made a strong start to their campaign and look set to continue their winning ways. For Punjab Kings, it is time to reflect on their performance and make some improvements before their next match.
