BADSHAHBOOK: Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered a setback in their quest for their first win of the IPL 2023 campaign as they lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 23 runs in Bengaluru on Saturday. After the DC spinners managed to restrict RCB to 174/6, DC's chase of a moderate 175 got off to a screeching start.
Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh were dismissed for ducks and Yash Dhull was caught LBW by Mohammed Siraj for just one run. Although David Warner got off to a promising start, he could only score 19 runs before being dismissed by Vijaykumar Vyshak. Manish Pandey contributed a half-century and Axar Patel scored a 14-ball 21, but DC eventually finished at 151/9 in reply.
At the beginning of the match, Kuldeep Yadav struck two wickets and caused middle-order destruction for the Royal Challengers by dismissing Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell in consecutive deliveries. Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav also took wickets. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli continued his impressive form as he scored 50 runs off 34 balls.
In a recent interview, Kohli was asked about RCB's repeated failures in the IPL, a question that no one from Bangalore likes to address, especially given the underwhelming performance of the city's WPL team.
Kohli was reminded of the unflattering similarity between the two sets of RCBians.
