  BADSHAHBOOK: In an enthralling encounter, the Kolkata Knight Riders managed to hold their nerve in the death overs to secure a thrilling win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite chasing a target of 172, SRH could only manage to score 166/8, falling short by five runs. 

   

  Earlier in the match, Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram had built a solid partnership for the fifth wicket to put SRH's innings on track. However, KKR made an impressive comeback, as SRH slipped from their position of strength, allowing KKR to seal the victory.

  SRH got off to a good start, bringing up their fifty inside the Powerplay. However, they lost three crucial wickets, including those of Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, and Rahul Tripathi, while chasing the target of 172. 

  On the other hand, KKR struggled to dominate their innings, as regular wickets kept them to a modest total of 171/9. Rinku Singh top-scored with 46, while Nitish Rana, the KKR captain, made 42.

  Aiden Markram produced a stunning catch off his own bowling to dismiss Rana, while KKR lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Venkatesh Iyer, and Jason Roy early in their innings. Marco Jansen and Kartik Tyagi took two wickets apiece for SRH.

  Winning the toss, KKR elected to bat first and made a couple of changes, bringing back Jason Roy and Vaibhav Arora into their playing eleven. SRH, too, made a few changes, bringing in Marco Jansen and Kartik Tyagi while benching Umran Malik.

  Both teams are struggling in the bottom half of the points table, with SRH at the ninth position and KKR in the eighth. Both teams have won three matches so far, with SRH playing one game less than KKR.

  A win in this match could keep their faint hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive.

  SRH and KKR met for the second time this season. The last time they faced each other, Harry Brook scored a blistering century for SRH. However, Brook has since struggled, and KKR has been struggling to find a reliable opening pair. The return of Andre Russell to form with both bat and ball is a major positive for KKR, who will be hoping for him to be back to his destructive best before it's too late.
