BADSHAHBOOK: Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star of the show during RR's dominant nine-wicket victory over KKR at Eden Gardens, as he scored a brilliant unbeaten 98 and also set a new milestone for the quickest half-century in IPL history.
RR achieved their target of 150 in a mere 13.1 overs, with skipper Sanju Samson contributing an unbeaten 48 runs.
Despite Venkatesh Iyer's half-century for KKR, it was Yuzvendra Chahal who stole the spotlight by taking four wickets and becoming the leading wicket-taker in IPL history.
KKR managed to score 149/8 in their 20 overs, with Iyer and Nitish Rana putting together a partnership of 48 runs before Chahal broke it.
RR's captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bowl first. Trent Boult delivered two early blows to KKR's openers, Jason Roy and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, setting the tone for the rest of the innings.
RR made two changes to their lineup by bringing in Trent Boult and KM Asif, while KKR made one change by replacing Vaibhav Arora with Anukul Roy.
In recent IPL matches, the fortunes of both teams have been vastly different. RR has lost five of their last six games and is struggling to keep their playoff hopes alive, while KKR has won three of their last four games and is still in the running for the playoffs.
