BADSHAHBOOK: The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals saw a stunning performance by Harpreet Brar, who took four wickets and led PBKS to a 31-run victory. Initially, DC had a strong start, with captain David Warner scoring a brisk half-century. However, Harpreet's introduction changed the course of the game, and PBKS emerged victorious.
\Meanwhile, Prabhsimran Singh played a fantastic inning, scoring his maiden IPL century and guiding PBKS to a total of 167/7 against DC. His knock of 103 off 65 balls included ten fours and six sixes, while no other PBKS batsman could contribute significantly. Ishant Sharma took two wickets for DC, finishing with figures of 2/27.
Prabhsimran got PBKS off to a flying start by hitting two sixes and a four off Mitchell Marsh's over. However, Ishant Sharma struck twice in quick succession, dismissing PBKS opener Shikhar Dhawan and No. 3 batsman Liam Livingstone cheaply. Axar Patel then removed Jitesh Sharma, leaving PBKS in a precarious position.
DC won the toss and chose to bowl first, making a couple of changes to their team. Mukesh Kumar replaced Ripal Patel in the DC XI, while Lalit Yadav was replaced by Praveen Dubey. PBKS replaced Bhanuka Rajapaksa with Sikandar Raza.
This was the first time that DC hosted PBKS in IPL 2023, and DC was hoping to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. They had started the season poorly, losing their first five matches, but they revived their campaign with four wins from their next five matches.

However, their chances of making the playoffs were hanging by a thread after their defeat to Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai Indians were also in the race for the playoffs.
