Earlier in the game, Heinrich Klaasen showcased his batting prowess by smashing a remarkable century. He scored an impressive 104 runs off only 49 deliveries, helping Sunrisers Hyderabad reach a challenging total of 186/5 in their 20 overs.
During the initial phase of the game, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost both their opening batsmen to Michael Bracewell in quick succession. However, Klaasen launched a counterattack, hitting several boundaries and ensuring that SRH finished the Powerplay with a decent score.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first. While RCB maintained the same lineup from their previous match, SRH made three changes to their team, introducing Harry Brook, Kartik Tyagi, and Nitish Reddy.
Du Plessis hoped that the presence of dew later in the match would work in his team's favor. On the other hand, SRH captain Aiden Markram mentioned that regardless of the conditions, he would have chosen to bat first.
