BADSHAHBOOK: Shubman Gill displayed a sensational performance, scoring a century, to lead the Gujarat Titans to a resounding six-wicket victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore, securing the Mumbai Indians' qualification for the IPL 2023 playoffs. Despite Virat Kohli's outstanding century, the Royal Challengers Bangalore's elusive quest for their first IPL title continues. Gill sealed the win in a stylish manner by hitting a six to reach his century.
At the completion of the ninth over, the Gujarat Titans were comfortably positioned at 84/1, with Shubman Gill on the verge of reaching his half-century. The team was firmly in control of the chase for 198 runs. Earlier, Virat Kohli's brilliant knock of 101 propelled the Royal Challengers Bangalore to a total of 197/5. Although Wriddhiman Saha departed early, Vijay Shankar's partnership of 64 runs with Gill kept the Gujarat Titans in control.
Gill and Shankar formed a solid partnership, guiding the Gujarat Titans to 59/1 after seven overs. They dominated the powerplay, with Saha's dismissal being the only setback. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis provided a blistering start, with Du Plessis scoring 23 off 12 balls and Kohli scoring 29 off 18 balls.
