  BADSHAHBOOK: The Delhi Capitals secured their second victory of the season by defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven runs in a thrilling encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. The DC bowlers put up a brilliant combined display to restrict SRH to 137/6 while chasing a target of 145. Axar Patel and Anrich Nortje shone with two wickets each, while Ishant Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav took one each.

   

  Mayank Agarwal was SRH's top scorer with 49, but they made a quiet start to their chase as they lost Harry Brook for 7 inside the Powerplay. Earlier, SRH's Washington Sundar took 3/28 and Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/11 as DC struggled to 144/9 in their allotted 20 overs. However, a 69-run partnership between Manish Pandey and Axar Patel for the sixth wicket helped DC post a decent total.

  Sundar's three-wicket haul in an over left DC gasping for breath after they were reduced to 62/5 from 57/2. DC lost Phil Salt for a duck in the first over, and T Natarajan trapped Mitchell Marsh in his first over. Sundar then removed Warner, Sarfaraz Khan, and Aman Khan in his second over to put SRH on top.

  DC skipper David Warner won the toss and opted to bat first. They benched Prithvi Shaw for the game and included Sarfaraz Khan and Ripal Patel. For SRH, Nitish Reddy made his way into the playing XI.

  Despite struggling in all departments and losing their first five games, DC managed to eke out a four-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous match. However, apart from Warner and Patel, the DC batters have failed to fire. With Shaw and Marsh being huge letdowns, the onus is on Pandey to bat more responsibly in the middle order so that Patel can play the big shots towards the end.

   

  SRH has suffered back-to-back defeats after their campaign seemed to have taken off. They currently occupy the second-last spot on the table, with their batting failing to chase or put up good totals in their previous two losses.
