RCB began their innings to chase down KKR's total. However, they were off to a shaky start as opener Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed in the first over by Sandeep Warrier. RCB soon lost their second wicket in the form of Faf du Plessis, who was dismissed by KKR captain Shubman Gill.
RCB's innings then saw a strong partnership between Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror for the fourth wicket. Kohli scored 65 runs and Lomror scored 43 runs, with the duo putting on 102 runs for the fourth wicket. However, RCB lost their momentum after losing their wickets in quick succession. They eventually finished with a total of 179/8, falling short of KKR's total by 21 runs.
For KKR, Sandeep Warrier and Vaibhav Arora picked up two wickets each, while Shubman Gill and Varun Chakravarthy picked up one wicket each.RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first, with Virat Kohli leading the team for the third time in a row. KKR dropped Kulwant Khejroliya and brought in Vaibhav Arora for the match.
Both teams had different fortunes leading up to the match, with RCB winning their last two matches and KKR suffering back-to-back losses. In their previous encounter this season, KKR had won by 81 runs, but RCB were in good form, with Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell leading the charge.
