SRH were chasing a target of 215, and they needed 17 runs off the last over bowled by Sandeep Sharma. Samad hit a sixer with the second ball of the over, which brought the equation down to 5 runs from the final delivery.
Rajasthan Royals set a massive total of 214 for 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the match, with Jos Buttler and captain Sanju Samson both scoring commanding half-centuries. Buttler scored 95 runs off 59 balls and stitched another 138 runs with Samson (66 not out) in 13.3 overs after a 54-run opening stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Royals made a big change in their playing XI, with Joe Root replacing Adam Zampa, who was making his IPL debut.
After having lost their recent two matches, Rajasthan Royals seemed eager to make a comeback in the league as they got to face the struggle against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, they have failed to put up a collective effort on the field in the last few matches. Their star batters Buttler and Samson struggled with their form, and their star bowlers, including Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin, failed to make an impact with the ball.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad are having a tough time this season, as they are yet to find the right combination. They are currently at the bottom of the points table with just three wins in 9 matches. Their batting unit has not been performing, and they lost a close match against Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game. The road to playoffs seems challenging for them, and they will need a miraculous turnaround to finish in the top four.

Despite starting well after electing to bat first, the inaugural IPL winners suffered an unbelievable batting meltdown from 47/1 in five overs to 118 all out in 17.5 overs, which Gujarat chased down in 13.5 overs.
Sangakkara stated that "It is embarrassing for anyone when you don't play well. We were very poor in terms of capitalizing the beginnings we got. We were showcasing intent for a while, however, we were a bit reckless, and later on we had very little intent against the two spinners."
