BADSHAHBOOK: After suffering a rare series loss at home against Australia in the three-match ODI series, the players of the Indian cricket team have joined their respective franchises for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) senior wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik, who is playing what is likely to be the last IPL of his career, has named Hardik Pandya as the "most important player" in the Indian squad.
"He's no doubt the most vital player in the lineup. Answer: Because he brings two skills to the floor and the fact that he brings two tough skills to the floor. A medium pacer and an all-around hitter is something that's very, very difficult." "He bats quite well in the middle, and obviously when it comes to bowling, he seems to get a way to dive in and get wickets. What makes him really difficult to play is his natural connection because the way he bowls you always feel he's going to keep the short length. But the moment he starts to bowl fuller, the batsman's weight is on the back foot and he's looking a lot more for the short ball, so you always tend to be a bit slower. It was a well-thought-out dismissal by Mitchell Marsh, he changed pace well, got Travis Heada to play the pull shot, and
he dropped in deep square. But he made him play the cut shot again," Karthik added.
"He's bowling well. He's definitely a very important cog in the wheel. He's one of those players who literally makes the look of the team, the way the team is built depends on where Hardik Pandya is. All of a sudden, when you remove him from the whole team and you feel we are doing better or less. It becomes a huge question mark. For Team India, Hardik Pandya is a key player and if he is in form, he brings a lot to the table."
